SPAN 151A - "Catalan Language 1" - Instructor: Elisabet Llopart Saumell (University of Alicante)
Elisabet Llopart-Saumell is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Catalan Philology at the University of Alicante (UA), funded by a Juan de la Cierva scholarship (awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science) and a member of the Institut Superior d’Investigació Cooperativa (ISIC-IVITRA) at the UA, and of the Observatori de Neologia and IULATERM research group (Lexicon and Technology) at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). In her PhD dissertation, she studied the communicative function of neologisms using linguistic and extra-linguistic criteria such as functional, sociolinguistic, discursive, morpho-semantic and pragmatic aspects.

In translation - Premi Ausias March
In cooperation with the Institut Municipal d´Arxius i Biblioteques (Ajuntament de Gandia), this Project involves the translation into English of a selection of works awarded with the prestigious Premi Ausiàs March de Poesia, de Gandia Ciutat Literària, whose first recipient was the poet Vicent Andrés Estellés.
