Francesc Feliu is a Professor at the University of Girona. He was awarded the Premi Marià Aguiló de Gramàtica històrica i Història de la llengua (1999) and received the Premi Extraordinari  for his Doctoral Dissertation (2000). Together with Josep Maria Nadal he directs a research group on History of the Language and Normative Language. He is currently director of the Institut de Llengua i Cultura Catalanes (University of Girona) and President of the Coordinadora d’Estudis Universitaris de Filologia Catalana. He is a member of ISIC-IVITRA. He is involved in the analysis of the history of the Catalan language and the relevance of normative aspects in the historical definition of languages.
