Hans-Ingo Radatz studied Romance, English and Celtic Philologies in Hannover, Bangor and Frankfurt am Main, and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Chemnitz. He has taught at the University of Heidelberg, the Catholic University of Eichstätt and the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. He is a founding member of ISIC-IVITRA and Director of the Internationales Institut fur Ibersiche Studien (Bamberg). He is the author of Das Mallorquinische: gesprochenes Katalanisch auf Mallorca, deskriptive, typologische und soziolinguistische Aspekte (2010), as well as of bilingual anthologies of Ausiàs March (1993, 2016), Vicent Andrés Estellés (1996) and the complete works of Jordi de Sant Jordi (Der letzte Trobador, 2011). He is the author of numerous Catalan Grammars (Il Catalano in tasca, adattamento, 2008; Katalanisch – Wort für Wort, 2010; Mallorquinisch Wort für Wort, 2006), edited works (Katalanisch: Sprachwissenschaft und Sprachkultur, Akten des 14. Deutschen Katalanistentages im Rahmen von 'Romania I', Jena, 28.9.-2.10.1997, 1999; Iberia polyglotta, zeitgenössische Gedichte und Kurzprosa in den Sprachen der Iberischen Halbinsel, 2006), as well as articles on Catalan literature and language, among which we could mention "Per què els elements gal.loromànics fan 'heavy' en català. Arran del clàssic debat sobre la subagrupació del català" (eHumanista/IVITRA 2, 2012) and "Joan Salvat-Papasseit: Der Mythos des Alltäglichen" (Zeitschrift für Katalanistik 4, 1991).
