Bio

Josep Lluís Martos has a B.A. in Filologia Hispànica / Filologia Valenciana (1993) and a Ph.D. in Catalan Philology (1999) from the University of Alicante. He is a Professor of Catalan Philology at the University of Alicante. He currently teaches courses on discourse analysis, medieval Catalan literature and Romance Languages culture and literature. He specializes in Catalan literature (textual transmission). He is a member of several research groups (within the ISIC-IVITRA, Prometeo II/2014/018) and has over 100 publications. Among them, we could highlight those dealing with textual transmission of cançoner and cancionero poetry of the 15th, 16th, and 19th centuries. In several critical editions and monographs he has edited and studied the works of Joan Roís de Corella. He has been the treasurer of the Asociación Hispánica de Literatura Medieval and Vice President of Sociedad Convivio para el Estudio de Cancioneros. He is currently the director of the research group Literatura i Pensament, of the web-based CIM devoted to the study of cancionero literature and of the journal Revista de Cancioneros Impresos y Manuscritos (www.cancioneros.org).
